The WAN PPTP connection will only work if your using your DD-WRT as a secondary router. You will need to set a "Static" gateway pointing to the Local IP Address of the DD-WRT to force the traffic to route through the VPN connection.

I try DD-wrt on my wrt54gl (my router for test) andi couldn't do dual-wan working ! So I try tomato from china with dual-wan, it works fine and there's other feature. But china language is difficult to read, so I'll continue with one wan for long time
The AsusWRT firmware supports something called “Dual WAN” - an option to have two Internet channels connected. Apart from the dedicated Ethernet WAN port, you can either plug in a 3G USB modem, or use one of the 4 LAN ports for a second WAN. In my case, I connected the ADSL modem to LAN.
